The Zamboanga Consortium for Health Research and Development will be conducting its 3rd Health Research Ethics Review Training (Basic Course) for Prospective Members of Ethics Review Committees on September 06-07, 2012 at the Universidad de Zamboanga Auditorium, Zamboanga City

Since Ethics review is mandated for all health researches. The training is essential for the institutionalization of the ethics review process for all researches to be undertaken by ZCHRD and its member institutions. Further, the training aims that participants will be able to:

  1. Determine the adherence / violations of research proposals to ethical principles
  2. Make appropriate recommendations as needed to adhere to ethical principles
  3. Analyze decisions / actions to be taken by members of health research ethics review committees given hypothetical situations

70 participants from the academe, non-government organizations, and hospitals in Region IX will converge to learn about health research ethics. This training is one of the many trainings planned by the consortium with its member institution to build and strengthen the capacity of health researchers in the region.
