The Zamboanga Consortium for Health Research and Development (ZCHRD) conducted a Regional 3-Minute Pitch to Policymakers Competition which aims to nominate a participant that will represent the region for the Nationwide 3-Minute Pitch Qualifying Round to the 15th PNHRS Week. The consortium made a call for nomination to its member institution which was actively participated by the Jose Rizal Memorial State University and Zamboanga City Medical Center.
The consortium received a total of seven (7) entries presented to the panel of judges, Dr. Chona Q. Sarmiento, ZCHRD Consortium Director; Dr. Norvie T. Jalani, Chair of Research Agenda and Management Committee (RAMC); and Mr. Ricardo J. Apolinario III, DOST-IX Science Research Specialist-I. Upon careful deliberation from the judges, Mr. Joezerk Jhon Biel (First Place) of Zamboanga City Medical Center won the competition after garnering the highest points with his study entitled: “Perceived Social Constraint and Physical Exhaustion among Caregivers of Adult Hemodialysis Patients”. Mr. Biel will be receiving a cash prize of Php 7,000.00 from the consortium as well as the region’s representative to the Nationwide 3-Minute Pitch Qualifying Round to the 15th PNHRS.
Runner-ups from the competition are also from the same institution, the Zamboanga City Medical Center which includes: Dr. Lester Jay T. Corsame (2nd Place) with his study entitled: "Predictors of Treatment Outcome among Drug Resistant Tuberculosis Patients at the Outpatient TB Dots Facility of Zamboanga City Medical Center" and will be receiving a cash prize of Php 5,000.00 ; and Dr. Midzraina Lyne A. Mohamad (3rd Place) with her study entitled: "Clinical Outcomes of Pediatric Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Patients Before and After the Institution of the Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia - Medical Access Program (ALL-MAP) in Zamboanga City Medical Center" and will also be receiving a cash prize of Php 3,000.00.
