DOST IX-ZCHRD in collaboration with Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) successfully conducted the 3-day training on Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis with applied CPD units last March 21-23, 2023 at Grand Astoria Hotel, Zamboanga City. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) granted 24 units for Nurses, 16 units for Physicians and 10 units for Professional Teachers.

Dr. Servando D. Halili, Jr., chair of Capacity Building Committee and Dr. Norvie T. Jalani, chair of Research Agenda and Management Committee of ZCHRD, served as the resource speakers. It was participated by ZCHRD member and non-member institution from Ciudad Medical Zamboanga (CMZ), Cebu City Medical Center, Department of Education-IX, Jose Rizal Memorial State University (JRMSU), Mindanao Central Sanitarium, Universidad de Zamboanga (UZ), Zamboanga Peninsula Polytechnic State University (ZPPSU), Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology (ZSCMST) and Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC).

This training aims to help participants summarize literature and identify areas in which research is needed. A systematic review will help them gather all available empirical research by using clearly defined, systematic methods to obtain answers to a specific question. A Meta-analysis is the statistical process that will also help them on analyzing and combining results from several similar studies.
